½package refrigerated pie crusts1 pie crust
3Tbspbuttermelted, divided
Caramel saucewarmed
Candy eyeballs
Instructions
Preheat & Prep: Fire up the oven to 400°F and line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment. In a small bowl, stir together the cinnamon and sugar.
Apple Prep: Slice the apple into about 20 quarter-inch slices. Toss them in a large bowl with 1 tablespoon of the cinnamon-sugar mix until each slice is deliciously coated.
Mummy Bandages: On a lightly floured surface, roll the pie crust into a 10-inch square. Brush with half the melted butter and shower with half of the remaining cinnamon-sugar. Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, slice into 20 thin (½-inch) strips.
Wrap & Roll: Take each apple slice and loosely wrap it with a dough strip, cinnamon-sugar side touching the apple. Tuck the ends underneath like you’re tucking in a tiny spooky friend. Place the wrapped apples on the prepared sheet.
Final Sprinkle & Bake: Brush the mummies with the rest of the melted butter and sprinkle on the remaining cinnamon-sugar. Bake for about 15 minutes, until the crust is golden and crisp.
Add the Eyes: Once slightly cooled, use warm caramel sauce as “glue” to stick on the candy eyeballs. Serve with extra caramel for dipping—because caramel is basically Halloween’s love language.
