Sunny Side Up: Serving Recipes, Real Life & a Dash of Chaos!

Hey there — welcome to Sunny Side Up, my cozy corner of the internet where the coffee’s strong, the oven’s (usually) on, and life is just the right amount of scrambled.

I’m Sunny: home cook, soccer mom to two daughters, dog treat dispenser, and CEO of keeping everyone fed and (mostly) on time. Around here, life is a blur of weeknight dinners, soccer cleats, college visits, and trying to soak in the moments in between.

This blog started as a place to collect the recipes that fuel our family — but it’s become so much more. It’s a creative outlet, a place to share stories, and a little tribute to the people and meals that shaped me.

I lost my mom to cancer last year, and not a day goes by that I don’t wish I could call her — about dinner, about parenting, about life. She’s the reason I fell in love with cooking, and her kitchen will always be my definition of warmth. In many ways, this blog is for her, too.

Our daughters are older now — one in college, one in high school — and they’ve grown up with grass-stained socks, sideline snacks, and the smell of something baking when they walk in the door. Most of my stories live between those lines: on the field, in the kitchen, in the messy, beautiful in-between.

Full disclosure: I’m new to blogging. So posts might be a little imperfect, a little messy… kind of like dinner at our house most nights.

But here’s what you can expect: easy weeknight meals, snackable bites, and the occasional overshare from life in the fast lane (which, let’s be honest, is really just the backseat of my SUV surrounded by cleats, empty water bottles, and our cockapoo, Lucy, who thinks she runs the show.

So thanks for stopping by. Grab a fork, pull up a chair, and make yourself at home.
